Nicole Adams (Pilates): Is the owner & primary trainer of Intimate Pilates. A lifelong advocate of fitness, Nicole’s interest in Pilates started in 2000 after the birth of her 1st child with Mari Windsor’s Supreme Pilates and from there it fueled her interest to find out more about this thing called “Pilates” (puh-LAH-teez). As a Southern California native Nicole started Pilates training with private sessions at the Pilates Institute of Southern California (PISC) in trendy Manhattan Beach, CA. One of the attributing factors that led her to Private sessions was the recommendation of her doctor to help rehabilitate a herniated cervical disc she had suffered. Once introduced to the Reformer & other apparatuses, Nicole gave up the gym scene and was hooked on Pilates. It was the first time in her life that she actually looked forward to working out, rather than forcing herself to go for just the benefits of her physical appearance. Pilates just gave her more; more of a mind, body, control aspect which she immediately loved! It instantly became her passion! She continued regular sessions 2 to 3 times a week and decided to take the steps necessary to become a certified Pilates instructor. She has her Full-Level STOTT PILATES® certification which includes; Mat, Equipment, Postural Analysis, Anatomy, and Special Populations and Injury. She continues to take classes at Bodycenter Studios in Seattle to stay as current as possible. To contact Nicole directly email her at nicole@intimatepilates.com |

Carli Herrs (Pilates): studied Pilates and anatomy at Bodycenter Studios in Seattle, where she earned an Advanced Level STOTT PILATES® certification on the mat and all equipment. Today she continues to evolve her understanding of the Pilates method through ongoing training and personal study. Her interest in movement and fitness has its roots firmly planted at the Goju Karate Center in Kent, WA, where she has been studying Goju-ryu karate-do since 2001. She has led classes for adults and children, as well as classes in women's self defense. She taught Pilates group mat classes and private sessions at the GKC from 2005 through 2008, then spent two years teaching at a studio in Auburn. Carli is overjoyed to return to downtown Kent to teach at Intimate Pilates. She enjoys finding the endless ways in which Pilates can be adapted to enhance any body, and she believes that the beauty of this method lies in that it is meant only to benefit the body, without the muscular imbalances, injuries and joint stress so many other activities can bring. She is grateful for the opportunity to guide people in understanding how their body moves, learning to own and improve that movement, and gradually re-connecting the mind, body and spirit. Carli recently set out on a new journey to become a SOMA practioner, and am currently in training at the SOMA Institute of Neuromuscular Integration in Buckley, WA. SOMA is a system of bodywork which works by way of the fascial (connective tissue) network to release chronic, stored structural aberrations, and effectively realign the entire body. It is a wonderful complement to the Pilates method, and she can't wait to see how it changes and enhances her work in the studio! To contact Carli directly email her at carli@intimatepilates.com |
