Owner Bio
Nicole and Paul Adams recently opened Intimate Pilates to expand from Nicole’s previous home studio. Nicole, a mother of two children is the primary trainer. A specialist in the male dominated industry of Aerospace, Nicole has a 20 year career as a quality professional. She has often dreamed of opening a Pilates studio but it was mostly just day dreams and had accepted her fate as a servant to the daily grind and resigned herself to the coffee and cubicle rituals like so many others. She is hoping that this dream will now become a reality with the planned success she has for Intimate Pilates.
A lifelong advocate of fitness, Nicole’s interest in Pilates started in 2000 after the birth of her 1st child with Mari Windsor’s Supreme Pilates and from there it fueled her interest to find out more about this thing called “Pilates” (puh-LAH-teez). As a Southern California native Nicole started Pilates training with private sessions at the Pilates Institute of Southern California (PISC) in trendy Manhattan Beach, CA where Pilates Studios out number Starbucks (not really)! One of the attributing factors that led her to Private sessions was the recommendation of her doctor to help rehabilitate a herniated cervical disc she had suffered.
Once introduced to the Reformer & other apparatuses, Nicole gave up the gym scene and was hooked on Pilates. It was the first time in her life that she actually looked forward to working out, rather than forcing herself to go for just the benefits of her physical appearance. Pilates just gave her more; more of a mind, body, control aspect which she immediately loved! It instantly became her passion! She continued regular sessions 2 to 3 times a week and decided to take the steps necessary to become a certified Pilates instructor. She has her Full-Level STOTT PILATES® certification which includes; Mat, Equipment, Postural Analysis, Anatomy, and Special Populations and Injury. She continues to take classes at Bodycenter Studios in Seattle to stay as current as possible. She is also very familiar with the traditional style of Pilates which she first learned at PISC.
Now, as the owner of Intimate Pilates, she is working to provide personalized and affordable physical training in Pilates set in an intimate relaxed atmosphere. Aware of the fact that so many of her clients are fellow daily grinders, Nicole has created an atmosphere at Intimate Pilates that will help reduce stress and provide an invigorating training experience for persons at all different fitness levels. Nicole has personally found Pilates to be one of best exercises to do, both during and after pregnancy. Pilates and pregnancy go together so well, because Pilates is great at building core strength. If your abdominals, back, and pelvic floor/Kegel muscles are toned, they will support a more comfortable pregnancy and an easier delivery. She also attributes Pilates to helping her get her figure back after her children were born! Having done Pilates both during and after pregnancy herself, Nicole has first hand experience of the benefits and will gladly share her experience with all expecting mothers. |
